Terms of service

Last updated: June 2026. Plain terms for ordering a website from Local Business Sites.

These terms are not a substitute for personal legal advice. They set out how projects are usually run so both sides know what to expect. By going ahead with a quoted project, you agree to the points below unless something different is confirmed in writing for your specific job.

Who provides the service

Local Business Sites is an independent web project. Contact for projects is by email at contact@localbusinesssites.com.

Prices are starting points

Published prices on the pricing page are starting figures, not fixed prices for every possible job. The final price depends on the agreed scope: number of pages, amount of writing, images, languages and any extras. You receive a written quote for your project before work begins. Work starts only after you accept that quote.

Final scope is confirmed individually

Each project has its own scope, confirmed in the quote or follow-up email. That scope lists what will be built, how many pages are included, what content is supplied by you and what is written by us, and the delivery time. Changes outside that scope, such as extra pages or a new language, are quoted separately before any extra work is done.

No Google ranking guarantee

We build fast, well-structured pages with sensible titles, headings and descriptions. We do not guarantee a specific position in Google or any other search engine, a minimum number of visitors or a particular level of sales. Search results depend on competition, location, reviews and many factors outside any website build.

Demo concepts are not client projects

Visual examples on the portfolio page are demo concepts. They are not presented as live websites built for named clients, and they are shown as images rather than downloadable templates. Your paid website is created individually after an order, with its own content, layout and files.

Your responsibilities as the client

You are responsible for providing accurate business information for your website, including services, prices, areas covered, opening hours and contact details. You confirm that text, logos and photos you supply can be used on your site. If a claim on your site must meet professional or legal rules in your country, such as health or financial wording, you are responsible for that accuracy. We can help phrase content clearly, but we do not provide legal or regulatory advice for your trade.

Payment and delivery

Payment method, timing and delivery date are agreed individually before work starts and confirmed in writing. Until that confirmation exists, no work is scheduled. If you need the site live by a specific date, say so early. If the deadline is not realistic for the agreed scope, we will say so honestly rather than accept and miss it.

Website files and handover

On completion, website files are prepared according to the agreed scope and delivered for your use. Static and AMP sites are handed over as files you can host where you choose. Hosting and domain registration are separate unless agreed as an extra. After handover, small updates can be requested as add-ons; larger changes are quoted based on the work involved.

Review and revisions

The agreed scope includes a review stage with a reasonable round of revisions to wording, layout and images within the original scope. Requests that add new pages, new languages or substantially new features are treated as a scope change and quoted before work proceeds.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel after work has started, contact us as soon as possible. Any payment terms for work already done or committed will follow what was agreed in your project confirmation. We do not charge for work that has not been started without agreement.

Limitation

We aim to deliver reliable websites and clear communication. Liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the specific project giving rise to the claim, except where a higher limit is required by law and cannot be excluded. We are not liable for loss caused by inaccurate information you supplied, hosting problems outside our control, or search engine ranking changes.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last revised. Active projects follow the terms confirmed when the quote was accepted, unless both sides agree otherwise in writing.

Relationship to other pages

Pricing, packages and demo concepts are described on the main site for information only. If anything on a public page differs from your written quote, the quote and project confirmation govern that job. The privacy policy explains how information is handled when you contact us by email.
